Job Description:

Private Client Partner Guernsey

Location: Guernsey
Firm: Leading Offshore Law Firm

Overview:
A major offshore law firm is seeking to appoint an experienced Private Client and Trust Partner to join its Guernsey office. This is a strategic hire designed to strengthen the firms pan-jurisdictional private wealth offering and build further capability across contentious and non-contentious trust work.

The Opportunity:
The role offers an established platform within a leading offshore brand, with a high-quality pipeline of trust, estate, and fiduciary instructions from institutional trustees, family offices, private banks, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of Advocates and STEP-qualified lawyers, taking a lead in client development, team management, and the continued integration of the firms global private client practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a broad private client and trust practice in Guernsey, covering both advisory and contentious matters.

  • Advise trustees, protectors, beneficiaries, family offices, and private banks on all aspects of trusts, foundations, wills, and estates.

  • Act on high-value and complex cross-border structures, restructurings, momentous decision applications, and related litigation.

  • Provide strategic input into business development initiatives across the Channel Islands, London, and other offshore centres.

  • Mentor and supervise a small but capable team of associates and counsel.

Candidate Profile:

  • Guernsey-qualified Advocate, or UK-qualified lawyer with the ability and interest to qualify locally.

  • 10+ years PQE with significant offshore or onshore private client and trust experience.

  • Strong track record across both non-contentious and contentious trust matters.

  • Established relationships within the private client, trust company, and fiduciary community.

  • STEP qualification preferred.

  • Entrepreneurial approach, with the credibility to lead client relationships and contribute to firmwide growth.

Why Apply:
This is a rare opportunity to step into a partner-level platform in Guernsey, combining first-rate work, genuine autonomy, and the lifestyle benefits of one of the worlds most attractive offshore jurisdictions.
